10 BEST TOURIST PLACES TO VISIT IN INDIA DURING WINTER
Today I will share with you India’s 10 best tourist places to visit in India during winter. Some areas in India still covered with Snow during the winter? But can you ever
think? We can still explore those places. Only we have to be assured of some significant travel equipment. Before reading all the places below, I have a question for you.
Do you really want to explore the Snowfall, Chilly winds, and cold desert areas? Do you want to know about the winter destination?
Well, if someday you ask me this question. I would always say yes, yes. Because I love winters.
Top 10 Tourist Places to explore in winter in India
1) Munnar, North Kerala, South India
I have spent my 8 years in the travel industry in which one place I always want to revisit is Munnar. Because this place has the ultimate freshness of mountains, Tea Gardens, Eravikulam National Park, Lush greenery & the very famous Top station.
There are such places in Munnar which you will never forget about. Because those are very precious, Such as a Chocolate Factory. You will be able to see the live process of chocolate making.
One of my favorite places is the top station. The top station is 50 km away from the main Munnar town, and the driver will ask you to pay INR 1500 extra for the Top station sightseeing. But I would say pay that 1500 bonus from your package. Because of that 360 views, you are not going to get them anywhere else.
Best time to visit Munnar: – Munnar remains colder than another part of north Kerala. But I would suggest you explore it from January to June and October to December.
Only you can avoid travelling here for 3 months due to landslides. However, if you are a monsoon lover, those 3 months are best for you. that is why I had included Munnar in the 10 Best tourist places to visit in India during winter
I heard from several people before I started selling the tour packages of Kerala. Kerala is a warm place, and there is a big problem with North Indian food.
But actually, it’s not 100% true. It totally depends upon your tour advisor or yourself. How you manage things.
I would suggest you book the package from any tour agency. Always inform, then we don’t like coconut oil. So they can arrange other oil for you.
2) Manali, Himachal Pradesh, North India
Well, Manali is a beautiful hill station. Which you can explore anytime in a year. But yes, specialty, if you are a snow lover, I have a personal recommendation to go there from December to February month.
Because that’s the only time. When you can enjoy the live and fresh snowfall. I would recommend you to travel to Manali through a private taxi from mid of December to last February month.
Because sometimes, heavy snowfall obstructs the way to reaching Manali. You can read the complete article on them through my blog. (Is Manali safe to travel in Winter?)
If you really want to enjoy the winter holiday in your pocket then book your trip to Manali with Ankit Travel Stories.

3) Nainital, Uttarakhand, North India
Nainital is one of the attractive hill stations in the lapse of Uttarakhand. Also, it’s the capital of Nainital. The place also comes under the weekend travel from Delhi. Because it is only 320 km from Delhi and takes only 6 hrs to reach there.
What can you explore in Nainital?
Nainital is a mesmerizing hill station where you can enjoy boating in Naini and Bhimtal Lake. The lakes are so deep, so don’t try to swim in that. It is prohibited and risky too much. Nainital itself has several places to explore like Naina Devi Temple, Nainital Zoological Park, Mall Road, and several other sightseeing places.
I would recommend you to visit the Sattal and naukuchiatal if you’re planning to explore the Nainital. Because of the last 3 years. Nainital is becoming so congested due to narrow roads and heavy tourist flow.
If you are travelling for a sense of peace and leisure. I would recommend you take the stay in Bhimtal and visit all the places from there itself.
Bhimtal is just 20 Kms from the Nainital and also near to Sattal and Nakuchiyatal. As a tour operator, people even asked me where to stay in Nainital.
But some people ordered me earlier to stay near the Nainital mall road. But I would advise you if you take to stay near the mall road. The first problem you are going to face is heavy traffic and no parking space. This leads to a traveller in a bad mood.
I travelled to Nainital first in May 2017 by Motorbike, which was peak season time there. You cannot imagine the Nainital had 4 km of traffic people getting fed up to wait in the cars.
You can visit my blog for staying in Nainital.
4) Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, North India
We all know that most of the part of North India remains covered with Snow from December to February month, especially the hills.
Mussoorie is one of the features of those hills that is why we call it a queen of hills. I have travelled to Mussoorie several times by Motorbike and car. But I never found that weather somewhere else I found in Mussoorie. Even you cannot predict when you are going to hide in the clouds.
Mussoorie is a place where you can enjoy the snowfall from January month to February month. But in the last year, 2019. God wanted to showcase something else to us.
Because December month itself had heavy snowfall. Even the local people of Mussoorie were shocked to see that. When I talked to them, they said we had seen Snow in December approx. 20 years back.
But yes, friends, once you reach Mussoorie, you will not think of coming back to your city. Because fresh air always drags humans.
Would recommend you check this link for Uttarakhand and Mussoorie details.
5) Auli, Uttarakhand, North India
Auli is the fantastic Iceland of India, which lies in the laps of Uttarakhand. I have explored several places in India. But yet, never found anything like Auli in the term of Snow. This place remains covered with snowfall from October to Mid of May.
The best part of the places in Auli hill station is the Skiing Championship. I still have remembered my last year’s journey there in December month. We stayed in Joshimath.
Because of no accommodation available in Auli. It was just 15 km from Joshimath to Auli, and you can also choose the option of the ropeway, which will charge you 500 to 1000 per person. As per the season.
Auli doesn’t have many hotel options available. Only you can stay in the Clifftop resort there. Which remains a little expensive for the backpackers like they charge 10000/- per night on a Breakfast basis.
Whenever we talk about the 10 Best tourist places to visit in India during winter. We can not leave the Auli. Because it is heaven on earth.
Best time to explore Auli
I would suggest you plan Auli from October to June Month. Because of the remaining 3 months, you may face heavy rainfall due to the monsoon period.

Jaipur, or the pink city, is one of the best places to explore the culture. Because their people’s dressing style and food always attract plenty of people each year. Especially foreigners. When I went to Jaipur last time. I found at Chokhi Dhani 60% foreigners and 40 % only Indians.
What exactly do you explore in Jaipur?

7) Goa, South-western coast of India
Goa is quite famous for its renowned beaches in India. It has several beautiful beaches where you can also do adventure activities with your soul mate or family members and friends.
I went to Goa in 2018. Really the best part of Goa attracts me to its nightlife. Because morning remains hot in Goa but the nighttime looks fabulous such as day 01, I had spent a perfect time at the Baga beach. It’s one of the cleanest beaches in Goa.
As I am from New Delhi, I really didn’t know about the people of Goa, and it was a little risky for me to go out on the goa beaches at night at 12:30 am. However, I asked for the hotel manager, is it safe to travel at night in Goa? Then he replied and said yes, it is relatively safe at all.
He suggested that I should walk to Baga beach from the hotel. It was around 1.5 km. But I was denied because of so much dark outside, even somewhere I didn’t find the street lights at all. So I hired a car from the hotel itself, and they charged me 200 rs for dropping and dropped me at the Baga beach.
I was so surprised to see that all the clubs and restaurants were opened at the beach. Specially Sher e Punjab. It was very, very crowded.
Particular suggestions for the North Indians.
Don’t overthink the language of the Goa people. Because they speak like Tu Jaana, Tu Karna.
Actually, they have been speaking in that language since they were born. But goa people even don’t insult you at all that I felt in 4- 5 days I spent in Goa.
What are the best beaches in Goa?
There are approx. 28 to 30 beaches in Goa, which you cannot explore in 3-4 days. So I would recommend you don’t make your journey too busy to complete all the places.
Only choose the best one for you. Find out the below-mentioned beaches which could be best for you?

If something you want to explore in your life-related travel. I would recommend you to travel once to the Northeast. Because this destination is fabulous.
As I am a travel agent too. Whenever I suggest travellers explore the North, they always ask me what we can visit there. My answers remain the same. It is a heaven on the earth. Because of the fresh air and lakes, you can enjoy the North. None else is a place you can explore.
Gangtok is one of the parts of it. There you can enjoy several things like Lake, Mountains, and Snowcapped Mountains and adventure activities too, like paragliding and River Rafting in the Teesta River.
If you ever plan to explore this wonderland. Then book things earlier because there are few things you cannot find a direct basis. Because there are very few transportation systems and accommodation too. You reserve all the things in advance, then there are maximum chances of enjoying everything; otherwise, you might miss something because of finding a hotel and transport there.
