The name Himalaya or Uttarakhand in the northern state of India. Whenever somebody speaks about it. There is an image prepared frequently in my mind. Because Himalaya is the only place where I feel pleasure and peace.

Where is Uttarakhand?
Uttarakhand or Uttaranchal are words related to a single state. Which is situated in the northern part of India. Uttarakhand state is well known for its pilgrims, Himalayan mountain, Hindu temples. And the very famous highest lord shiva temple in chopta.
Are Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh the same states in India?
Well, actually it was the same state before 9 November 2000. The Bharatiya Janta Party had decided to segregate the state into two parts. The earlier one is the same as Uttar Pradesh, and the new is uttarakhand state.
Uttarakhand has divided into two parts?
Uttarakhand is still a big state after the partition of Uttarakhand. That’s why the Indian government had divided Uttarakhand into two divisions. The first is Garhwal, and another one is Kumaon.

Garhwal Region
Several districts come under the Garhwal region such as Rudraprayag, Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal, Haridwar, Chamoli, and Uttarkashi. The local language of the Garhwal region is Garhwali, and the famous cuisines here are Garwhal ka Fannah, Phaanu, Jhangora Ki Kheer, etc.
Kumaon Region
The Kumaon or kumaun both the words relate to the same region in Uttarakhand. The Kumaon region has a variety of food and ethnic wear too. It included Champawat, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Nainital, Almora, and Udham Singh Nagar.
They speak the local language as a kumaoni and Kumaoni dance is quite famous in Uttarakhand.

Temporarily Capital is Dehradun
Dehradun is the temporary capital of Uttarakhand. But some people still want to make the gairsain a permanent capital of uttarakhand.
How to reach Uttarakhand?
There are all types of facilities to reach Uttarakhand. But some places are still not connected by train.

There are two airports in Uttarakhand
Visitors can book their tickets to reach Uttarakhand. Either for Dehradun airport well known as the Jolly Grant, and another is Pantnagar airport near Nainital District.
Recommendation:-
I would always suggest you book the flight to Dehradun from your origin point. If you have to visit the Garhwal region and book pant Nagar flight if you want to visit the Kumaon region.
Buses from Delhi to Uttarakhand
Frequent buses are plying from Delhi to Uttarakhand. Even I had travelled several times to reach Delhi to Dehradun and Delhi to Haldwani.

You can reach the Anand Vihar Bus Stand I.S.B.T. For public transport and if you want to book a sleeper or semi-sleeper Volvo bus. You can book it online through Red Bus or directly at the bus stop near Anand vihar petrol pump.
Uttarakhand Travel By Private Car
The own car or taxi is one of the easiest ways to reach Uttarakhand by road. Because roads of Uttarakhand are more trustable than other hills except in monsoon (July to September).

What is the best time to visit Uttarakhand, Indian?
Uttarakhand is the largest hill area in north India. Where 99% of districts are known for peaks. The best time to visit Uttarakhand according to Ankit travel stories is 12 months in the year. Except for July to September due to heavy rainfall and landslides.

Day 01:- Delhi – Mussoorie
Morning travel from Delhi to Mussoorie around 04: am in the morning and arrived in Mussoorie near about 10 am. Check in to the hotel and after that, relax for some time.
Evening enjoys the Mussoorie mall road, Overnight stay at the hotel.
Travel distance Delhi to Mussoorie via Dehradun.
290 kms one side in which you will drive 30 kms on hills from Dehradun to Mussoorie

Day 02:- Full day sightseeing in Mussoorie
Morning breakfast at the hotel and after that drive to explore the local sightseeing of Mussoorie. Like Kempty waterfall, George Everest, Lal Tibba, Cloud’s end, Company garden.
In the evening come back to the hotel overnight to stay at the hotel.
All the tourist places are situated on the high hills in Mussoorie. If you are travelling through your own vehicle. You should be perfect in hills driving.
Day 03:- Mussoorie to Rishikesh
Morning breakfast after that drive to Rishikesh. Rishikesh is famous for Yoga, Hindus temple, and Ayurveda.
Adventure activities in Rishikesh:-
Some tourists can do some adventure activities like river rafting, Rock climbing, and other adventure activities. The standard price for the rafting is 800 t0 1200 per person.
Local places:- Tourists can explore the local sightseeing like Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, and waterfall in the Rishikesh. Evening free for leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Distance From Mussoorie to Rishikesh is 80 Kms by road/ 3 hrs drive
Day 04:- Rishikesh to Haridwar via Rajaji National Park
Morning breakfast in the Rishikesh hotel. After that, you can check out from there and drive to Haridwar. The place is famous for its pilgrims and Ganges aarti in the late evening and early morning.

Day 01:- Delhi to Nainital
Morning travel to nainital from Delhi around 04 am in the morning. And arrived at the nainital hotel around 11 pm. Check in to the hotel and relax for some time.
Local sightseeing in Nainital:-
Tourists can visit the Nainital Lake and boat on the Naini Lake with a walk around the mall road of Nainital.
The evening came back to the hotel and stayed overnight there.

Day 02:- Nainital (Full day lake tour)
Morning breakfast after that drive to visit the lake tour in Nainital, Bhimtal, Sattal, and naukuchiatal. I would recommend you to visit the sattal if you are a nature and bird watcher.
Day 03:- Nainital to Jim Corbett
Morning breakfast after that drive to visit the Jim Corbett national park in Uttarakhand. The evening reached at the Jim Corbett hotel via sightseeing of Corbett Museum and waterfall.

Day 04:- Jim Corbett – Delhi
Early morning wake for the Jungle Jeep safari in Jim Corbett, after that drive back to Delhi with the everlasting memories.
